ASL & Disablility Theatre
It broke my heart to discover that the environment surrounding my passion was filled with the same kind of ableism I was surrounded by growing up. That is why I made it my personal mission to change the way our industry views, hires, and teaches neurodivergent actors/performers and those with physical and mental disabilities.

I want to help create an industry where people like me can feel safe, listened to, and encouraged to grow, learn, fail, and try new things.

That os why I started to learn ASL. Not only do I want to help create a community and a safe space for neurodivergent actors and performers with disabilities, I also want to support my disabled brothers and sisters through communities and cultures that already exist.

Not only do I use ASL in my daily life to help my Audio Processing Disorder, but I try to find any/every opportunity I can to incorporate it into my craft. I believe in normalizing and destigmatizing the use of ASL in theatrical production, and finding new and creative ways to make our industry more inclusive to everyone. Period.
