Who am I?
Hello! My name is Julia Melloni (she/they)

I am a 22-year-old, queer, actor of disability currently living in New York City.
I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2022. I received a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BA in History, where I received a Gold Key in History and graduated from the Honors College.
I was born and raised in Capecod, Massachusetts, where I struggled to find a sense of self for most of my childhood. It wasn't until I discovered acting and theatre that I felt like I had an outlet to be the person I was meant to be. Since then, I have been fighting to create a safe space for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent actors and theatergoers.

Outside of the Theatre world, I love playing the piano, guitar, and a myriad of other instruments related to the two. I am also a philanthropist, activist, and colossal history buff specializing in ancient Greece and the politics, religion, and culture of the time.

Thank you so much for taking this time to get to know me a little better! I am so proud of the work that I have done, and I am excited to share it with you. Enjoy!
MY DREAM
Growing up, I was often bullied for being different. A lot of this was due to my own mental and physical differences, but I eventually realized it was because of the startling lack of human diversity in the artistic world around us.
I am a tall, gender non-conforming, queer, differently-abled actress, with a deep voice; and out of all the musicals that have graced the streets of Broadway, at 13, I had only discovered one (Wicked) in which I felt represented. Ever since then I have been wondering-- why aren't there more roles out there made for and about real people.

That is why it is my dream to break that barrier and create a new normal.

I want to create, encourage, and continue to be a part of a new type of theatre. One with a richly diverse cast of characters. Diversity in race, gender, vocal type/style, sexuality, and physical/mental ability is part of the human experience, it only makes sense it should be a part of the theatrical experience as well.
